AutoZone Hit With Race Bias, Rest Break Action

Law360, New York (June 29, 2011, 12:33 PM EDT) -- An AutoZone Inc. worker filed a putative class action Monday in California claiming the auto parts retailer discriminates against black employees and generally denies workers mandatory rest breaks.

AutoZone refuses to promote black employees and favors workers of other races with better hours and pay, adhering to “an unwritten racially discriminatory policy,” the suit argues.
