Calif. Defers Cap-And-Trade Compliance To 2013

Law360, New York (June 30, 2011, 6:53 PM EDT) -- The chairwoman of the California Air Resources Board said Wednesday that the agency would push back compliance requirements under the state's planned cap-and-trade program to 2013.

In testimony before the state's Senate Select Committee on the Environment, the Economy and Climate Change, ARB Chairwoman Mary D. Nichols said the program intended to cut greenhouse gas emissions would still be initiated in 2012 but compliance requirements wouldn't take effect until the following year.
