UniCredit, Kohn, Others Want Madoff Fraud Suit Tossed

Law360, New York (June 30, 2011, 3:21 PM EDT) -- Defendants including Austrian financier Sonja Kohn and Italian bank UniCredit SpA asked a New York federal judge on Wednesday to toss a multibillion-dollar suit brought by investors who put money in foreign funds that fed Bernard Madoff's massive Ponzi scheme.

The motion — also joined by Ernst & Young SA, HSBC Holdings PLC and JPMorgan Chase & Co., among other defendants — asserts generally that most of the claims made by plaintiffs Neville Seymour Davis and Shmuel Cabilly in the 66-count litigation stemming from Madoff's $65...
