Intel, Apple, HP Face ITC Probe Into Microprocessor IP

Law360, San Diego (June 30, 2011, 9:01 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Thursday launched an investigation into whether Intel Corp., Apple Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co. infringe five of X2Y Attenuators LLC’s microprocessor patents.

The ITC voted to institute the probe based on X2Y’s May 31 complaint alleging that microprocessors and computers containing them were being imported into the U.S. and sold by the respondents in violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930. The complainant is seeking exclusion and cease-and-desist orders.
