Elan, Abbott Drop Teva Patent Suit Over Tricor

Law360, New York (June 30, 2011, 8:07 PM ET) -- Elan Pharma International Ltd. and a subsidiary of Abbott Laboratories on Thursday dropped a New Jersey suit accusing Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. of infringing three patents for cholesterol drug Tricor.

U.S. District Judge Garrett E. Brown Jr. approved a joint motion to dismiss the case, which Elan and Abbott subsidiary Fournier Laboratories Ireland Ltd. brought in July 2010.
