2nd Circ. Upholds Sterling Sex Bias Arbitration Award

Law360, Washington (July 1, 2011, 4:38 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit on Friday reinstated an arbitration award in a 20,000-strong sex bias class action against Sterling Jewelers Inc. that had been vacated in the wake of a 2010 U.S. Supreme Court decision addressing arbitration.

The dispute stems from 15 female employees' allegations that Sterling officers refused to consider them for promotions and paid them less than their male peers.
