Wildcat Attacks EA, Nintendo Over Trading Card Patent

Law360, New York (July 5, 2011, 2:07 PM EDT) -- Wildcat Intellectual Property Holdings LLC filed a suit Friday in Texas accusing a dozen companies — including Electronic Arts Inc. and Nintendo of America Inc. — of infringing on a patent for electronic trading cards.

The complaint claims that video games and online trading card games produced by the companies, including EA’s "BattleForge" video game and a Nintendo trading card game, violate U.S. Patent Number 6,200,216 titled “Electronic trading card.”
