Freshfields Reps Travelex In $976M Western Union Deal

Law360, New York (July 5, 2011, 1:31 PM EDT) -- In a move aimed at bolstering its global payment offerings to small and medium businesses, Western Union Co. on Tuesday announced the acquisition of London-based Travelex Holdings Ltd.'s international business payments unit for £606 million, or approximately $976 million.

The all-cash deal will see the global payments company add Travelex Global Business Payments to its existing business solutions offerings, potentially bringing on TGBP's 35,000 customers in 14 countries.
