AGs, DOJ Subpoena Sprint Over AT&T, T-Mobile Deal Review

Law360, New York (July 11, 2011, 10:18 PM EDT) -- Nine state attorneys general and the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division subpoenaed Sprint Nextel Corp. in late June over its review of AT&T Inc.'s proposed $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA Inc.

In a June 28 letter to the Federal Communications Commission, Sprint revealed that the DOJ and the attorneys general of Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington have requested copies of the materials related to Sprint's request to the FCC that it deny the proposed transaction.
