Dow, HP, Others Hit With Patent Suit Over HR Software

Law360, New York (July 13, 2011, 2:03 PM ET) -- Dow Chemical Co., Hewlett Packard Co., Best Buy Co. Inc. and several others were hit on Tuesday with a suit in Illinois accusing them of infringing a Trunqate LLC patent by using employee recruiting software from Taleo Corp.

In the complaint, Trunqate argues that Taleo human resource applications that help companies decide which employees to hire from among a pool of candidates violate U.S. Patent Number 5,592,375, titled "Computer-Assisted System for Interactively Brokering Goods or Services Between Buyers and Sellers" and issued on Jan. 7, 1997....
