Insurer Accuses Pitt Hospital Of Dirty Ad Campaign

Law360, New York (July 13, 2011, 6:28 PM EDT) -- Nonprofit health insurer Highmark Inc. on Wednesday accused the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center of breach of contract and false advertising violations related to an allegedly misleading ad campaign designed to siphon away Highmark clients.

UPMC launched a deceptive ad campaign to lure Highmark customers away after UPMC announced several of its hospitals would be severing their relationships with Highmark in June 2012, according to the complaint.
