Ex-Kirkland Partner Pleads Not Guilty To Tax Charges

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 12:28 PM EDT) -- Former Kirkland & Ellis LLP bankruptcy partner Theodore L. Freedman pled not guilty on Thursday in New York federal court to charges that he falsified tax returns in an effort to avoid paying the government $1 million.

Freedman appeared flanked by his lawyer, Robert Cleary of Proskauer Rose LLP, before U.S. Magistrate Judge James C. Francis.
