US Transformer Makers Seek Duties On S. Korea Imports

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 5:57 PM EDT) -- A coalition of U.S. producers of large power transformers on Thursday filed an anti-dumping duty petition with the U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Commerce, claiming low-cost South Korean imports have unfairly undermined domestic industry.

ABB Inc., Delta Star Inc., and Pennsylvania Transformer Technology Inc. argue that cheap imports of liquid dielectric large power transformers from South Korea over the past three years have skyrocketed, accounting for 38 percent of all large power transformer imports into the U.S. market last year.
