$30M Pump-And-Dump Schemer Gets Lower Sentence

Law360, Washington (July 15, 2011, 3:43 PM EDT) -- A Michigan federal judge on Wednesday issued an amended judgment reducing the prison sentence of Alan Ralsky, who sent out millions of emails advertising stocks at the center of a $30 million pump-and-dump scheme involving Chinese and Israeli microcap companies.

The court knocked Ralsky down to a term of 35 months in prison from an original sentence of 51 months, after the U.S. filed a motion to reduce his sentence under terms reached in a plea agreement. He is already serving his prison term.
