Federal Agencies Call For Biobased Contract Reporting

Law360, New York (July 15, 2011, 6:56 PM EDT) -- Federal agencies issued a proposed rule Wednesday that would require contractors to report their use of biobased products — composed of renewable plant, animal, marine or forestry materials — in service and construction projects.

The proposed rule, issued by the U.S. Department of Defense, General Services Administration and NASA, would implement changes to the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002, requiring contractor reports to support the government's efforts to buy more eco-friendly goods.
