ITC Probes Vizio, Trek Complaints Over Tech Patents

Law360, New York (July 15, 2011, 6:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Thursday opened two probes into complaints from Vizio Inc. and Trek 2000 International Ltd. accusing their rivals of importing digital televisions and USB thumb drives, respectively, that infringe their patents.

Both cases will focus on whether imports of the two popular technologies run afoul of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930.
