McDonald's, Others To Meet New Nutrition Standard

Law360, New York (July 15, 2011, 4:55 PM ET) -- McDonald's USA LLC, Coca-Cola Co., and 15 other food and beverage producers on Thursday agreed to comply with an industry plan to reduce the amount of calories, sodium, sugar and fat contained in products advertised to children by 2013.

Under uniform nutrition criteria unveiled by the 17-member Children's Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative — which represents companies responsible for more than 70 percent of all food ads targeted to children — companies will be required to change the recipes of their products to meet new calorie...
