Asiana Will Pay $21M, Cooperate To End Price-Fixing MDL

Law360, Los Angeles (July 15, 2011, 7:29 PM EDT) -- Asiana Airlines Inc. on Friday received final approval in California federal court to settle a multidistrict litigation accusing it and Korean Air Lines Co. Ltd. of fixing ticket prices by paying plaintiffs $21 million and cooperating against its co-defendant.

The settlement, approved by U.S. District Judge S. James Otero, is significant for including Asiana’s agreement to cooperate in the remaining litigation against co-defendant and alleged co-conspirator Korean Air — a much richer target for plaintiffs’ attorneys.
