Microsoft Faces Patent Suit Over Search Technology

Law360, New York (July 18, 2011, 1:26 PM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. was hit Friday with a suit in Washington state accusing it of willfully infringing Software Rights Archive LLC patents for Internet indexing and display technology, becoming the latest high-tech giant to face litigation over the patents.

Filed in Seattle federal court, Software Rights' suit claims Microsoft has violated four search technology patents and seeks a reasonable royalty and enhanced damages. The complaint does not identify a specific product that allegedly infringes the patents.
