Law360, New York (July 19, 2011, 11:56 AM ET) -- The New York Times Co. sued Webvention LLC in Delaware on Monday to avoid becoming the latest defendant in a series of suits the intellectual property licensing company has filed to enforce a data-organization patent.
In its complaint, the newspaper company asks for a declaratory judgment that the claims of U.S. Patent 5,251,294 are invalid, as well as a permanent injunction that would bar Webvention from filing its own action alleging patent infringement.
