Alcatel, Others Cut TruePosition From Tech Standards: Suit

Law360, New York (July 20, 2011, 6:53 PM EDT) -- Qualcomm Inc., LM Ericsson Telephone Co. and Alcatel-Lucent SA were accused in Pennsylvania on Wednesday by mobile positioning device company TruePosition Inc. of conspiring to prevent its proprietary tracking technology from being adopted into global wireless standards.

The antitrust suit alleges that the three companies used their influence within standard-setting organizations Third Generation Partnership Project and European Telecommunications Standards Institute — also included as defendants — to sabotage the adoption of the mobile locating standards developed by TruePosition.
