State Dept. Worker Fired Over $52M Contract Fraud Report

Law360, New York (July 21, 2011, 2:08 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of State said Thursday it had fired an analyst who was accused of funneling $52 million in federal contracts to a company owned by a man she had secretly married.

The department said it sacked contractor Kathleen McGrade after learning of allegations that she helped Sterling Royale Group LLC — allegedly run by her husband, Brian Collinsworth, and her daughter, Jennifer Herring — win 43 contracts for construction projects and security work at overseas State Department sites between 2009 and June.
