DOJ Preparing Subpoenas For News Corp.: Report

Law360, New York (July 22, 2011, 6:42 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Friday had reportedly begun preparing subpoenas in its investigation into media behemoth News Corp. over the alleged hacking of the voicemails of victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The subpoenas would seek broad information from News Corp. related to the phone hacking scandal and had not yet been approved by senior DOJ officials, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing an unnamed government official.
