Texas Appeals Court Nixes Claims In Royall Libel Suit

Law360, New York (July 26, 2011, 7:15 PM EDT) -- A Texas appeals court partially reversed a ruling Monday in a libel suit brought by Dallas developer H. Walker Royall against the author of a book about eminent domain, holding that 79 of Royall's defamation claims were unsupported.

Royall sued Carla T. Main and publisher The Encounter for Culture and Education Inc. over Main's book, “Bulldozed,” which criticized the government's taking of private property by eminent domain.
