T-Pain Says Auto-Tune Image Use Gives Him Bad Rap

Law360, New York (July 26, 2011, 7:36 PM EDT) -- Hip hop artist T-Pain sued the inventor of Auto-Tune in California federal court on Monday, alleging the company continued to use his image to promote the audio production software even after their business collaboration hit a sour note.

T-Pain, whose real name is Feheem Najm, filed a complaint accusing Antares Audio Technologies of misappropriating his right of publicity, committing unfair competition and violating the Lanham Act, according to a copy of the suit first published on AllHipHop.com.
