7th Circ. Nixes FCA Suit Over F-16 Sales To Greece

Law360, New York (July 26, 2011, 11:08 PM EDT) -- The Seventh Circuit affirmed a decision Tuesday to toss a qui tam suit alleging General Dynamics Corp. and Lockheed Martin Corp. violated the False Claims Act in a sale of F-16 jets to Greece that was funded by U.S. loans.

The appeals court upheld a 2009 decision by the Northern District of Illinois dismissing all claims brought by relator Dimitri Yannacopoulos, who alleged that the two companies lied to the government in order to get payment for the sale of jets to Greece.
