DairyAmerica Settles With Insurers Over Katrina Losses

Law360, New York (July 27, 2011, 6:42 PM EDT) -- Milk supplier DairyAmerica Inc. on Wednesday voluntarily ended a California suit against New York Marine and General Insurance Co. that sought compensation for the loss of more than 20 loads of powdered milk during Hurricane Katrina.

A California federal judge dismissed the suit as a result of a settlement reached between DairyAmerica and defendants New York Marine and underwriter Crump Insurance Services, known as Southern Marine & Aviation Underwriters Inc.
