Massport Dismissed From 9/11 Hijacking Liability Case

Law360, New York (July 27, 2011, 7:13 PM ET) -- The operator of Boston’s Logan International Airport on Wednesday won dismissal from a closely watched wrongful death suit brought by the family of a 9/11 victim that sought to hold airlines, security screeners and others responsible for the terrorist attacks.

U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein ruled from the bench in Manhattan federal court that the Massachusetts Port Authority could not be held liable for the death of United Flight 175 passenger Mark Bavis, whose plane crashed into the south tower of the World Trade Center....
