Paving Co. Head Cops To Bribing Ohio Commissioner

Law360, New York (July 28, 2011, 8:28 PM EDT) -- The head of a Cleveland-area road paving company on Wednesday decided to plead guilty for his role in a sweeping bribery scandal that has implicated several Ohio politicians and judges.

Anthony Melaragno filed notice that he would plead guilty to one count of conspiracy after prosecutors accused him of giving former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora free home improvements in exchange for multimillion-dollar resurfacing contracts for his company, Vandra Brothers Construction Co. He originally pled not guilty in March.
