Bally Challenges Infringement Ruling In Slot Machine Case

Law360, San Diego (August 1, 2011, 10:33 PM EDT) -- An attorney for Bally Gaming International Inc. urged the Federal Circuit on Monday to reverse a ruling that it infringed two International Game Technology patents for slot machine features.

Edward DeFranco of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, who represents the casino game maker, argued that the company’s products were outside the claim language of IGT’s U.S. Patent Numbers RE37,885 and RE38,812 related to systems for providing extra bonuses to casino players.
