Law360, New York (July 29, 2011, 3:52 PM ET) -- A Texas federal judge on Friday refused to overturn an $8 million verdict against Apple Inc. in a suit over patents on playlist technology used in iPhones, iPads and iPods, rejecting patent holder Personal Audio LLC's argument that it is owed much more.
U.S. District Judge Ron Clark said that the jury's method of fixing damages for Apple's infringement — ordering a lump sum payment from Apple to cover all past and future infringement — was fair.
