Ex-Army Officer Gets 18 Months Over Contractors' Bribes

Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 12:48 PM EDT) -- A former U.S. Army lieutenant was sentenced to 18 months in prison in Texas on Friday for stealing Iraqi fuel and accepting cash, jewelry and clothing from Iraqi contractors in exchange for favors such as relaxing security procedures.

U.S. District Judge Sam Cummings also sentenced David Charles Pfluger, 56, to pay $24,000 in restitution and to serve three years of probation, after the ex-lieutenant pled guilty to conspiracy, accepting gratuities and conversion of third-party property by a U.S. official.
