Obama Taps Cadwalader Partner For DOJ Inspector Post

Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 5:16 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama announced Friday that he would nominate Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP partner Michael E. Horowitz, whose practice focuses on white collar defense, internal investigations and regulatory compliance, to fill the inspector general post at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Horowitz was commissioner of the the U.S. Sentencing Commission from 2003 to 2009, according to the announcement. In that role, he helped rewrite the guidelines for corporate compliance programs as well as for fraud, antitrust, intellectual property and money laundering offenses, it said....
