Law360, New York (August 02, 2011, 1:07 PM ET) -- The production company behind the VH1 reality show "Basketball Wives" asked a California federal court on Monday to strike NBA star Gilbert Arenas' claims that the show, which features his ex-fiancee, violates his right of publicity and dilutes his trademark.
Shed Media U.S. Inc. called Arenas' suit, which claims the show is illegally using his name and likeness, "a showing of unparalleled hubris," and asked that his right of publicity claims be stricken under California's law barring suits that interfere with free speech.
