Judge Sides With Rembrandt In Claims Construction

Law360, New York (June 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Rembrandt Technologies LP received a boost Tuesday in its patent infringement suit against Comcast Corp. when a judge favored broad construction of the claims in four disputed patents, as Rembrandt had asked.

The plaintiff, a Bala Cynwyd, Pa.-based patent holding company, sued Comcast, one of the world's largest cable and communications companies, in September 2005 for allegedly infringing on four of Rembrandt's patents, which disclose mechanisms to facilitate digital cable transmission.
