Ex-Sullivan & Cromwell Partner Cops To Tax Evasion

Law360, New York (August 4, 2011, 5:51 PM EDT) -- A one-time Sullivan & Cromwell LLP mergers and acquisitions partner pled guilty in New York on Thursday to failing to pay taxes on some of the $10.8 million he made over eight years.

John J. O'Brien, 48, of Caroga Lake, N.Y., will pay at least $2.8 million in restitution, according to a plea deal with prosecutors. He faces a maximum prison sentence of four years.
