Chinese Imports Infringe Patents, Litepanels Tells ITC

Law360, New York (August 4, 2011, 4:16 PM EDT) -- Lighting equipment maker Litepanels Inc. on Wednesday asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to stop the import of products that allegedly infringe the company's patents, saying the ready availability of cheap, unlicensed Chinese-manufactured products is destroying its business.

Litepanels accused a slew of companies of making and importing into the U.S. cheaply-made clones of its lighting devices, and asked the ITC to launch a Section 337 investigation of these companies' alleged infringement of its patents.
