Judge Clears Dewey, Young Conaway As Dodgers' Counsel

Law360, Wilmington (August 4, 2011, 7:36 PM EDT) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge on Wednesday approved the retention applications of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ choice of reorganization counsel, rejecting Major League Baseball’s warning that the firms may be torn between the interests of the team and those of its owner.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Gross signed off on the Dodgers’ retention of both Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP and Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor LLP. A hearing had been scheduled to consider the retention applications, but was canceled by order of the court.
