Law360, New York (August 05, 2011, 10:09 PM ET) -- A Virginia federal jury found Thursday that Belgian transport company Gosselin Worldwide Moving NV and one of its executives had schemed to overcharge the U.S. Department of Defense by fixing rates for transportation contracts, but another legal battle looms over how it will be penalized.
The jury found that Gosselin and an executive, Marc Smet, knowingly submitted approximately 9,100 false claims under a contract to transport the household goods of Department of Defense and military personnel within Europe in 2001.
