Transocean Asks Judge To Reinstate $15M IP Verdict

Law360, New York (August 8, 2011, 8:26 PM EDT) -- Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling Inc. asked a Texas federal judge on Friday to overturn a ruling that tossed out a jury's verdict finding its rival Maersk Contractors USA had infringed two of its patents and awarding damages of $15 million.

In its motion to alter the July 27 ruling in favor of Maersk, a Danish transport and energy company, Transocean claimed the ruling was improperly based on motions filed post-verdict, and said the court had erred by not giving it enough time to file a response...
