GE Capital Boss Grilled Over Bid To Nix Bid-Rigging Case

Law360, New York (August 9, 2011, 4:47 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge seemed skeptical Tuesday about throwing out criminal charges against a former manager at a unit of GE Capital, one of three executives who allegedly plotted to rig bids for municipal finance contracts.

“I think you're going to lose,” U.S. District Judge Harold Baer told an attorney for defendant Steven E. Goldberg about his motion to dismiss charges that supposedly duplicate each other. “I just don't know how I can dismiss at this juncture.”
