Seiko Epson Settles LCD Patent Suit With Mattel, Others

Law360, New York (August 10, 2011, 1:23 PM EDT) -- Seiko Epson Corp. on Tuesday settled a case in Delaware in which it accused Giantplus Technology Co. Ltd., LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. and Mattel Inc. of infringing patents related to liquid crystal display technology.

U.S. District Judge Sue L. Robinson signed off on a notice of voluntary dismissal from Seiko Epson and terminated the case, in which Seiko Epson alleged that Giantplus made, sold or imported infringing LCD modules, and that Mattel and LeapFrog utilized infringing LCD modules in electronics products for kids.
