EPA Halts Sale Of Controversial DuPont Herbicide

Law360, New York (August 11, 2011, 7:15 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday ordered DuPont Co. to halt sales of an herbicide used in recreational areas and commercial properties that has been linked to the destruction of spruce and pine trees.

Since June, the agency has received complaints reporting damage to trees associated with the herbicide, Imprelis. DuPont has also submitted to the EPA thousands of reports about trees that have been damaged or died because of potential exposure to Imprelis.
