US Says Chicago Officials Lied About Suburb Water Source

Law360, New York (August 11, 2011, 10:10 PM EDT) -- Two former Chicago water department officials were indicted Thursday on charges that they lied to environmental regulators about supplementing the suburb Crestwood Village's water supply from Lake Michigan with water from a well.

Frank Scaccia and Theresa Neubauer allegedly supplemented the Lake Michigan water supply for the 11,000-resident village with water from a nearby well for more than 20 years in order to make up for leaks caused by a faulty water system, according to the indictment.
