NZ Fines Vodafone Over Misleading Cellphone Promos

Law360, Washington (August 12, 2011, 3:13 PM EDT) -- Vodafone New Zealand Ltd. was ordered to pay NZ$400,000 on Friday after it pled guilty to breaching the country's Fair Trading Act through misleading promotions for its Vodafone Live cellphone Internet service.

The New Zealand Commerce Commission brought its case against the company in September 2009, alleging Vodafone misled customers about the costs they would incur using the Vodafone Live Service.
