News Of The World Leaders Condoned Hacking: Ex-Reporter

Law360, New York (August 16, 2011, 1:24 PM EDT) -- A former royal correspondent at News of the World said his bosses were well aware of phone hacking at the now-defunct tabloid owned by News Corp.'s U.K. unit, according to a 2007 letter British lawmakers published Tuesday.

Clive Goodman — who was convicted for intercepting the voice mail messages of three employees of the royal family — wrote the letter to News International Ltd. in March 2007 to appeal the company's decision to fire him for gross misconduct.
