Law360, New York (August 16, 2011, 4:29 PM ET) -- A Georgia federal judge on Tuesday granted conditional certification to a class of field managers accusing AT&T Corp.'s BellSouth Telecommunications Inc. unit of refusing to pay them overtime compensation in violation of federal wage laws.
U.S. District Judge Julie E. Carnes conditionally certified a class of all field managers employed by BellSouth from December 2006 to bring claims that BellSouth denied them overtime pay for off-the-clock work before AT&T acquired the company, and misclassified them as exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act's overtime pay requirements...
