Lumbermens, Firm Settle Asbestos Suit Coverage Feud

Law360, Chicago (August 18, 2011, 7:58 PM EDT) -- A West Virginia federal judge approved a truce Thursday between law firm Robert Peirce & Associates PC and Lumbermens Mutual Casualty Co., which sought to duck coverage for an underlying suit alleging the firm brought fraudulent asbestos cases.

U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp Jr. granted the joint motion for voluntary dismissal the insurer and law firm — previously known as Peirce Raimond & Coulter PC — filed after reaching a confidential settlement deal and mutual release, the order said.
