Law360, New York (August 19, 2011, 5:12 PM ET) -- California-based Western Digital Technologies Inc. said Thursday the European Union's antitrust watchdog had filed a complaint over the company’s $4.3 billion acquisition of Hitachi Ltd.'s storage technology unit.
Western Digital said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that the European Commission had issued a statement of objection as a result of preliminary findings in an investigation of the competitive effects of the proposed transaction on the hard drive industry.
