Feds Probed Hacking At Texas Immigration Center: Report

Law360, New York (August 19, 2011, 4:07 PM EDT) -- An investigation of a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services facility in Texas revealed cases of personnel securing improper access privileges that would have allowed them to grant citizenship rights and view high-level emails and contract awards, according to a news report Thursday.

Nextgov reported that the yearlong probe into insider hacking at the Texas Service Center began in January 2008, when USCIS officials informed the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that numerous staffers had breached federal security rules.
